INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
A space to work
through what matters
Individual therapy at MindAction provides a confidential space to explore whatever is bringing you here, at your own pace. This might include anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or feeling stuck in patterns that aren't serving you.
Sessions focus on understanding how your experiences, beliefs, and coping strategies have developed over time, and how they may be influencing your current thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
"Therapy is collaborative and practical — with an emphasis on building insight and strategies that support meaningful, lasting change."
Session length: 50 minutes · Location: In-person & Telehealth
GRACE'S APPROACH
01
Practical over philosophical
Therapy should lead to real, tangible change. Sessions are focused on building tools and strategies you can actually use outside the room.
02
Honest and direct
You'll be appropriately challenged, not just validated. Growth requires honesty, and Grace will give you that with care and respect.
03
Tailored to you
No two people are the same. Therapy is shaped around your goals, your history, and what meaningful change looks like for you specifically.
04
Shaped by real-world experience
Grace's background spans the Australian Army, corrections, and mining, giving her genuine insight into the barriers many people face around mental health.

EMDR THERAPY
Processing trauma that won't let go
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy used to support people who have experienced trauma or distressing life events. It's particularly effective where past experiences continue to influence how you feel, think, or respond in the present.
EMDR helps your brain process unresolved experiences so they become less emotionally charged and easier to manage in daily life. Sessions are longer than standard therapy to allow time for preparation, processing, and grounding.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you get in touch
A few things people usually want to know before booking.
What can I expect in a first session?
Your first session is a chance to get to know each other. Grace will ask about what brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to get from it. There's no pressure to share everything at once, it's all at your pace.
Can I use my private health insurance?
You do not need a referral to see us privately. If you would like to claim your sessions on your health insurance policy, please check with your insurance company as to what you are eligible for.
Are telehealth sessions as effective as in-person?
Yes, telehealth sessions follow the same structure and therapeutic approach as in-person therapy. They're conducted via our practice system, Zanda, and attract the same Medicare rebates. Where in-person is clinically recommended, Grace will discuss that with you.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations or reschedules happen, we know life is busy. We ask that you get in touch as early as possible to reschedule. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a fee of 50% of the session cost. Cancellations within 24 hours, or failure to attend, incur the full session fee.
